India to Armenia visa requirements

Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Armenia and should obtain an eVisa online before travel. There is no visa-on-arrival. The 21-day tourist eVisa costs AMD 3,000 (about USD 8) and the 120-day eVisa costs AMD 15,000 (about USD 38). Travel health insurance is mandatory for Indian nationals, and applicants must also show either a qualifying third-country visa/residence permit, or a return ticket, invitation, and proof of funds. A visa is mandatory for Indian ordinary passport holders entering Armenia, and the recommended route is the official electronic visa (eVisa) at evisa.mfa.am. Armenia is NOT part of the Schengen area, so no Schengen 90/180 rule or ETIAS applies. There is no visa-on-arrival at Armenian borders, so the visa must be obtained in advance. Indian travelers can apply fully online for a single-entry tourist eVisa: a 21-day visa (AMD 3,000, ~USD 8, valid 90 days) or a 120-day visa (AMD 15,000, ~USD 38, valid 120 days). Standard processing is about 3 business days; applying 10-14 days ahead is advised. Since 24 November 2024, additional rules apply specifically to Indian nationals: travel health insurance is compulsory, and applicants must satisfy one of two paths - either hold a valid visa or residence permit from the US, EU/Schengen, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Russia or a GCC country, OR submit a full set of supporting documents (confirmed return ticket, invitation from an Armenian host/entity, bank statement showing sufficient funds, and travel insurance). Separately, a temporary measure (in effect until 1 July 2026) lets Indian citizens who hold a valid residence permit from the US, EU/Schengen states or GCC countries enter visa-free for up to 180 days in any 12-month period - but ordinary Indian tourists without such third-country residency must still obtain an eVisa. Embassy-issued visas remain available through the Armenian Embassy in New Delhi, but the eVisa is faster and cheaper for tourism.
