Israel to Indonesia visa requirements

Israeli passport holders cannot enter Indonesia visa-free and are NOT eligible for visa-on-arrival or e-VOA. Because Indonesia and Israel have no diplomatic relations, Israeli citizens fall under Indonesia's restrictive "calling visa" (visa berkunjung) category, which requires prior approval from the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta before a visa can be issued by an Indonesian mission abroad. Only after that approval is granted can the visa be issued, typically via an Indonesian embassy or consulate, and the process generally requires a local sponsor, an invitation/reference letter, and often a defined itinerary. Approvals are limited and discretionary; reporting in early 2026 indicated only around 51 calling visas were approved for Israeli nationals in 2025, underscoring how restrictive and uncertain the channel is. The practical alternative many Israelis use is a second (non-Israeli) nationality passport, which would then follow that country's normal Indonesian visa rules (including VOA/e-VOA where eligible). On an Israeli passport alone, travelers should treat Indonesia as visa-required with a high risk of refusal and plan many weeks in advance through a sponsor or specialized agency. Because the calling-visa process is opaque and outcomes are not guaranteed, conservative planning is essential. Tourism without a confirmed approval is not possible. Note: Indonesia is in Southeast Asia and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
