Q: What is the e-Ticket and is it a visa?

The e-Ticket is a free mandatory online entry/exit form from the Direccion General de Migracion. It is not a visa. You must complete it before both your inbound and outbound flights at eticket.migracion.gob.do.

Q: Do I still have to pay the US$10 Tourist Card?

Not separately at the airport. The Tourist Card fee is now included in the price of the airline ticket for most carriers, so most tourists do not pay it again on arrival.

Q: What happens if I overstay?

You pay a sliding-scale overstay fee when you depart, starting at roughly RD$3,500 (about US$55) for an overstay of up to three months, payable by card at the airport.

Q: Does the Schengen 90/180 rule or ETIAS apply?

No. The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean country and is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen short-stay rule and ETIAS do not apply.

Israeli ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in the Dominican Republic. You enter visa-free for up to 30 days (extendable). The only mandatory step is the free online e-Ticket, completed before arrival and again before departure. As of June 2026, the Dominican Republic grants visa-free entry to Israeli ordinary passport holders for tourism and short visits.
