Indonesia to Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) visa requirements

Indonesian ordinary passport holders are not on Taiwan's ordinary visa-exempt list. If you meet Taiwan's TAC conditions, apply online for the free R.O.C. (Taiwan) Travel Authorization Certificate: it is valid 90 days, allows multiple entries during that validity, and gives a 30-day stay counted from the day after arrival. Since 1 October 2025, travelers must also submit the free Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) online before immigration clearance. If you do not qualify for TAC, apply for a visitor visa; eligible high-end group tourists using designated travel agencies may use Taiwan's eVisa channel. As of 2026-06-21, Indonesia is not listed on Taiwan's ordinary visa-exempt-entry page, so an Indonesian ordinary passport holder cannot simply arrive visa-free for tourism. Taiwan instead offers a conditional online route for citizens of Indonesia, Cambodia, India, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam: the free R.O.C. (Taiwan) Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC) through the National Immigration Agency. To use TAC, you need a regular passport valid at least six months from arrival, an onward or return air/boat ticket, no history of blue-collar employment in Taiwan, and either a qualifying visa/residence document from Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, a Schengen country, the UK or the US, a Taiwan visa/resident card issued in the past 10 years with no Taiwan immigration irregularities, or, for Indonesians specifically, a valid Japan Visa Waiver Registration. The TAC is valid for 90 days, allows multiple entries within those 90 days, and each stay is 30 days from the day after arrival. Since 1 October 2025, foreign travelers with a visitor visa or visa-exemption status must complete the free online Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) before immigration clearance, normally within three days before arrival. Travelers who do not meet TAC conditions should apply for a visitor visa through the BOCA online form and the relevant ROC overseas mission; BOCA's standard visitor-visa fees are US$50 single-entry and US$100 multiple-entry for overseas applications. Separately, group tourists from Indonesia traveling with Tourism Administration-designated agencies are eligible for BOCA's eVisa channel under the high-end group tourist project.
