Indonesia to Slovenia visa requirements

Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Slovenia for tourism. Indonesia is NOT on the visa-exempt list, so it is not eligible for ETIAS; a full Schengen visa applied for before travel remains mandatory. Slovenia is a full member of the Schengen Area, and Indonesia is not among the countries exempt from short-stay visa requirements. An Indonesian citizen holding an ordinary passport must obtain a uniform Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before traveling, applied for at the Slovenian mission or its visa partner (VFS Global) in Indonesia. Because Indonesia is a visa-required nationality, it does NOT qualify for ETIAS travel authorization when that system launches in late 2026 — the visa obligation continues regardless. A Schengen visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across all 29 Schengen countries. The standard adult visa fee rose to EUR 90 in 2024, payable in addition to a VFS service charge collected in Indonesian Rupiah. Since 23 July 2025, the EU applies a more favourable visa "cascade" regime to Indonesian residents: travelers who have obtained and lawfully used a Schengen visa within the previous three years can be issued multi-entry visas valid up to five years, granting travel rights equivalent to visa-free nationals during validity. First-time applicants still receive a standard short-validity visa and must submit a full document set including travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000, proof of accommodation, return travel, and financial means. Processing is officially up to 15 calendar days, occasionally longer in peak season.
