Indonesia to Russian Federation visa requirements

Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a visa for Russia, but can use the convenient unified e-visa for tourism: single entry, up to 30 days stay, applied for fully online with no invitation letter required. Indonesia is not on Russia's visa-free or visa-on-arrival list, so an ordinary Indonesian passport holder requires a visa for a short tourist trip. The simplest route is the Russian unified electronic visa (e-visa), for which Indonesia is an eligible nationality. It is applied for entirely online at the official Consular Department portal (evisa.kdmid.ru), with no invitation letter, hotel booking, or document proving purpose of travel required. Since 23 August 2025, the e-visa is valid for 120 days from issue (up from 60) and permits a stay of up to 30 days from entry (up from 16). It is a single-entry visa with a state fee of about USD 52. Applications are processed within a maximum of 4 calendar days. Entry must be made through one of the designated air, rail, sea, and road checkpoints (including Moscow Sheremetyevo/Domodedovo/Vnukovo and St. Petersburg Pulkovo). Russia is not a Schengen state, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers needing longer stays, multiple entries, or who plan to enter via a non-e-visa checkpoint must obtain a traditional tourist visa through the Russian Embassy/Consulate in Indonesia, which requires a tourist confirmation/voucher from a registered Russian operator.
