Indonesia to Poland visa requirements

Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen Type C short-stay visa before traveling to Poland for tourism. Indonesia is not on the EU visa-exempt list, so ETIAS does not apply; a full visa must be obtained from the Polish consulate (via VFS Global) in Jakarta before departure. Poland is a member of the Schengen Area, and Indonesia is a visa-required nationality for Schengen short stays. As of 2026, Indonesian citizens are NOT among the roughly 60 visa-exempt nationalities, which means the upcoming ETIAS travel authorization does not apply to them. Instead, an Indonesian ordinary passport holder must apply for a Schengen Type C (short-stay) visa at the Embassy of Poland in Jakarta, in practice through the VFS Global application center. The visa permits a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. The standard adult visa fee is EUR 90 (EUR 45 for children aged 6-11, free under 6), plus a VFS Global service charge. Applicants must show a confirmed itinerary and hotel booking, travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000, proof of sufficient funds, and a passport valid at least 3 months beyond the intended departure and issued within the last 10 years. The official decision period is 15 calendar days, extendable to 45 days. Applications may be lodged up to 6 months before travel and no later than 15 working days before. Be conservative and budget extra time, as Schengen consulates can experience appointment backlogs.
