Indonesia to Panama visa requirements

Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Panama for tourism. Indonesia is on Panama's "authorized visa" list, the strictest category, which requires advance application through a Panamanian consulate with extra supporting documents. The only way to skip the visa is to already hold a qualifying multiple-entry visa or residence from the US, Canada, UK, Schengen/EU, Australia, Japan, South Korea or Singapore. As of 2026, Panama does not grant visa-free entry, visa-on-arrival, or an eVisa to ordinary Indonesian passport holders. Indonesia is classified under Panama's most restrictive "visa autorizada" (authorized visa) group, meaning the application must be lodged with a Panamanian consulate and approved by the National Migration Service before travel, with additional vetting (sponsor/invitation, stronger financial proof). A consular "stamped visa" is not available to Indonesians; the authorized visa carries higher fees and processing of up to about 60 business days. Panama is NOT in the Schengen area, so the 90/180 Schengen rule and ETIAS do not apply. The single practical alternative to applying for the Panamanian visa is the visa-waiver under Executive Decree 521 of 2018 as amended by Executive Decree 196 of October 2024: an Indonesian who holds a valid, multiple-entry visa (or permanent residence) from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, a Schengen/EU state, Australia, Japan, South Korea, or Singapore may enter visa-free for up to 30 days, provided the visa has at least 6 months validity remaining at entry and has already been used at least once in the issuing country. Travelers using this channel still must show proof of about US$500 in funds and an onward/return ticket. Without such a qualifying visa, an Indonesian tourist must obtain the authorized visa in advance. Default verdict: visa-required.
