Indonesia to Iceland visa requirements

Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before traveling to Iceland for tourism. Indonesia is not visa-exempt, so ETIAS does not apply; you must obtain the visa in advance. Iceland is part of the Schengen Area (a member of the Schengen Convention via EFTA). Indonesia is listed on Annex I, meaning Indonesian citizens require a visa for any Schengen stay, including short tourist visits. Because ETIAS only covers visa-exempt nationalities, it does NOT apply to Indonesians, even after its Q4 2026 launch. Travelers must apply for a Schengen Type C (short-stay) visa in advance, which permits stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. Iceland has no embassy in Indonesia; visa applications are handled on Iceland's behalf by the Royal Danish Embassy, with documents submitted through the VFS Global (Denmark) Visa Application Centre in Jakarta. The standard adult fee is EUR 90 plus a VFS service charge. Note that since 10 April 2026 the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) is operational at Schengen borders including Keflavik, recording biometrics (facial image and fingerprints) on first entry instead of passport stamping.
