🇮🇩INDONESIA🇦🇺AUSTRALIAID-AU Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit Australia?
Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a visa before travelling to Australia. Indonesia is not eligible for the ETA (601) or the free eVisitor (651), so tourists must apply online for a Visitor visa (subclass 600), Tourist stream, through ImmiAccount before departure. There is no visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or ETA option for Indonesian citizens visiting Australia. The Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601) is limited to passports such as the US, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and the free eVisitor (subclass 651) is only for EU/European passports — Indonesia is on neither list. Indonesian travellers must therefore lodge a full Visitor visa (subclass 600) in the Tourist stream online via ImmiAccount, uploading evidence of funds, ties to Indonesia, travel plans and (where requested) health insurance and biometrics. The visa is typically granted for a stay of up to 3 months (sometimes 6 or 12 months at the case officer's discretion) and may be single or multiple entry. The base application charge is AUD 190 and the visa must be granted before boarding — there is no on-arrival option.
