France to India visa requirements

India e-Visa required. For French citizens the e-Tourist fee is USD 10/25 for 30 days, USD 40 for 1 year, or USD 200 for 5 years, plus 3% bank charge. French ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter India. For tourism, the standard route is India's official e-Visa portal at indianvisaonline.gov.in; no embassy visit is needed for a normal tourist e-Visa. The current India e-Tourist fee table lists France at USD 10 for a 30-day April-June visa, USD 25 for a 30-day July-March visa, USD 40 for a 1-year visa, and USD 200 for a 5-year visa, with an additional 3% bank charge on applicable e-Visa fees. The 30-day e-Tourist visa is double-entry; 1-year and 5-year e-Tourist visas are multiple-entry, but each continuous tourist stay is capped at 90 days and total e-Tourist stays should be kept within 180 days per calendar year. Apply at least 4 days before travel and use one of the designated e-Visa airports or seaports for first entry. Since October 2025, foreign nationals entering India must also complete the free e-Arrival Card online before arrival, generally within 72 hours of travel. France is not one of India's limited Visa-on-Arrival nationalities, so French travellers should not rely on a visa on arrival.
