Do France passport holders need a visa to visit AM?

French ordinary passport holders do not need a visa for Armenia. You can enter visa-free and stay for up to 180 days within any one-year period for tourism or short visits. France is an EU member state, and Armenia grants nationals of all 27 EU countries visa-free entry under its unilateral visa policy. A French citizen with an ordinary passport may travel to Armenia for tourism without any prior visa, e-visa, or authorization, and will be admitted at the port of entry. The permitted stay is generous: up to 180 days in total within any one calendar year. This is unrelated to the Schengen 90/180 rule and to ETIAS, neither of which applies, because Armenia is not a member of the Schengen Area or the EU. No fee is charged for visa-free entry. Travelers should carry a passport valid for the duration of their stay (six months recommended), proof of onward or return travel, accommodation details, and evidence of sufficient funds, which border officers may request. Visa-free status covers tourism and short visits only; paid work, study, or long-term residence requires the appropriate visa or residence permit. Those wishing to stay beyond 180 days or for other purposes can apply for a residence permit or an e-visa through Armenia's official electronic visa system at evisa.mfa.am.
