Finland to Nicaragua visa requirements

Finnish ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist visits to Nicaragua. Finland is on Nicaragua's Category A visa-exempt list (confirmed under Decree 002-2026, effective 16 February 2026). You may stay up to 90 days, but you must buy a US$10 tourist card on arrival and present a passport valid for at least 6 months. As of 31 May 2026, Finland is classified in Nicaragua's "Category A" group of visa-exempt countries. Finnish citizens have held this status since 1987 and retained it after Nicaragua's major visa overhaul under Decree 002-2026 (effective 16 February 2026), which cancelled visa-free access for some nationalities but explicitly preserved it for European Union, US, Canadian, UK, Swiss, Japanese and Australian nationals. A Finnish tourist therefore enters Nicaragua without a pre-arranged or arrival visa for stays of up to 90 days. The only mandatory entry charge is a US$10 tourist card purchased at the port of entry; this is paid in cash (US dollars) and is not a visa. Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months, proof of onward/return travel, and evidence of sufficient funds. Stays can be extended once for up to an additional 30 days at the immigration office (Migracion y Extranjeria) for a fee. Nicaragua is in Central America and is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS are irrelevant for this direction of travel (ETIAS applies only to Nicaraguans going to Europe). Because the visa-free channel is confirmed by both the Nicaraguan visa policy record and post-decree reporting, the verdict is visa-free.
