Finland to Kuwait visa requirements

Finnish passport holders can visit Kuwait for tourism with an eVisa (recommended) or a visa on arrival. The eVisa is applied for online before travel via the Ministry of Interior portal, costs KWD 3 plus mandatory fees, and permits a short tourist stay. As of 31 May 2026, Finland is an EU/Schengen state whose ordinary passport holders are eligible to enter Kuwait for tourism. Two channels exist: an online eVisa through the Kuwait Ministry of Interior portal (kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw), and a visa on arrival at Kuwait International Airport. The eVisa is the recommended option because it provides pre-approval before departure, reduces the risk of airport delays, and lets travelers satisfy the newer mandatory health-insurance and documentation requirements in advance. The base eVisa fee is KWD 3; since the December 2025 update applicants also pay roughly KWD 5 for mandatory health insurance and a KWD 10-per-month residency component, bringing a typical one-month tourist application to about KWD 18. The visa is generally single-entry, valid for 90 days from issuance, and permits a stay of up to 90 days, with multiple-entry one-year options available for frequent travelers. Standard processing is 1-3 business days, often within 48 hours, though exceptional cases can take up to two weeks. Passports must be valid at least 6 months with blank pages, and applicants should hold proof of accommodation, return tickets, and sufficient funds. Because Kuwait is not in the Schengen area, no ETIAS or Schengen 90/180 rule applies to this route; those rules concern travel into the EU, not into Kuwait. Travelers should confirm current fees and document rules on the official portal before applying, as Kuwait revised its eVisa fees and insurance requirements in late 2025.
