Spain to Timor-Leste visa requirements

No visa needed. Spanish passport holders can enter Timor-Leste visa-free for tourism and stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period, as an EU member-state exemption. As of 2026-06-02, Spain (ES) ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Timor-Leste (East Timor) for tourism or a short stay. Timor-Leste grants visa-free entry to citizens of European Union member states (except Ireland), allowing stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This exemption applies at the Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili, the Dili sea port, and at recognised land borders such as Batugade. No advance application, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival fee is required for Spanish nationals — those USD 30 visa-on-arrival rules apply only to non-exempt nationalities. The only practical requirements are a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry, a completed arrival/disembarkation card, and proof of onward travel and sufficient funds, which may be checked at the border. Note the direction of travel matters: this verdict is for a Spanish citizen entering Timor-Leste. (Separately, Timorese citizens visiting Spain/Schengen will need ETIAS once it launches, expected late 2026, but that does not affect Spanish travellers.)
