Spain to Georgia visa requirements

Spanish ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for Georgia. As an EU citizen, you may enter visa-free and stay up to 365 days for tourism, business, or private visits. Since 1 January 2026, all visitors must carry valid travel medical insurance (minimum 30,000 GEL coverage). Spain is a member state of the European Union, and Georgia grants visa-free entry to citizens of all EU/EEA states. A Spanish ordinary passport holder can enter Georgia without any visa and remain for up to 365 days (a full year) within a 365-day period for tourism, private, or business purposes. EU citizens may even cross the border using a national ID card in lieu of a passport, though a passport is recommended for international air travel. Georgia is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here; Georgia operates its own independent and very liberal visa policy. The most important recent change: effective 1 January 2026, every foreign national entering Georgia must hold valid travel/medical insurance covering the duration of stay, with minimum coverage of 30,000 GEL (roughly USD 11,000). The policy can be issued by a Georgian or foreign insurer and must be available in Georgian or English; travelers may be asked to show proof at the border, and those without it risk a fine (reported around 300 GEL) or refusal of entry. No application, fee, or advance authorization is otherwise needed for the visa-free entry itself.
