Germany to Vietnam visa requirements

German ordinary passport holders can visit Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days per entry. For longer stays, use Vietnam's official eVisa or another appropriate visa. German ordinary passport holders can enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days from the date of entry, provided they meet Vietnam's normal entry conditions. The current unilateral waiver for Germany and 11 other countries runs from 15 March 2025 through 14 March 2028 under Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP. The Vietnam Embassy in Germany says the 45-day visa-free period is recalculated at each entry and no minimum interval from the last exit is required. Travellers should carry a passport valid for at least six months from entry and proof of return or onward travel within the permitted stay. For stays over 45 days, Vietnam's official eVisa is valid for up to 90 days, single or multiple entry; the Immigration Department lists fees of USD 25 for single entry and USD 50 for multiple entry, with processing in 3 working days. Journalism/filming, employment, study, residence, or any activity requiring separate permission should be confirmed with Vietnamese authorities before travel.
