Do Germany passport holders need a visa to visit OM?

German ordinary passport holders can enter Oman visa-free for tourist stays of up to 14 days. No visa or eVisa is needed for short visits, provided you carry a passport valid 6+ months, a confirmed hotel booking, a return/onward ticket, travel health insurance, and proof of sufficient funds. Oman exempts German ordinary passport holders (along with 100+ nationalities, including all EU/Schengen states) from the entry visa requirement for visits of up to 14 days. This unilateral visa-waiver applies to tourism and short visits and is confirmed by the Oman Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the German Federal Foreign Office. To use the exemption, travelers must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond entry and be able to show a confirmed hotel reservation, a return or onward ticket, valid travel health insurance, and sufficient funds for the stay. The 14-day exemption cannot be extended or converted to a residence permit. Travelers intending to stay longer than 14 days must obtain an eVisa in advance through the official Royal Oman Police portal (evisa.rop.gov.om): a 30-day single-entry tourist eVisa costs OMR 20, while a 1-year multiple-entry eVisa (30 days per stay) costs OMR 50. A 10-day single-entry eVisa (OMR 5) also exists but is unnecessary for Germans given the longer free exemption. Always book the eVisa only on the official ROP site; many lookalike third-party sites charge inflated fees. Oman is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entering Oman.
