German biometric ordinary passport holders do not need an advance UAE visa for tourism, visits, or business meetings, and may stay up to 90 days within 180 days with a free arrival stamp. German citizens using a valid biometric ordinary passport do not need a visa in advance for tourist, visit, or business-meeting travel to the United Arab Emirates, provided they do not work in the UAE. The German Federal Foreign Office states the visa-free allowance is up to 90 days within 180 days; UAE MoFA lists Germany as visa-free; and GDRFA/MOET list eligible countries whose citizens can receive a visa or visit permission on arrival, with some countries receiving up to 90 days. The passport must be a regular biometric passport and valid for at least 6 months at entry; German provisional passports, identity cards, and provisional identity cards are not accepted for entry. The UAE Embassy in Washington also advises exempt non-US travelers to hold a passport valid for six months from expected arrival and confirmed round-trip or onward travel. No fee or online application is required for the short-stay visitor route. If more time or a non-tourist status is needed, contact GDRFA/ICP or a UAE mission before expiry. Overstays can trigger AED 50 per day fines and further penalties.
