Do Germany passport holders need a visa to visit JO?

German ordinary passport holders need a visa for Jordan, but it is easy to obtain. A single-entry tourist visa on arrival costs 40 JOD at Queen Alia (Amman) and Aqaba airports and major land borders. Alternatively, buy the Jordan Pass online before departure (from 70 JOD) which waives the visa fee if you stay at least three days, or apply for an eVisa online in advance. Germany is not on Jordan's visa-exempt list, so a visa is required, but Germans qualify for visa on arrival (VoA) at all major ports of entry as well as an online eVisa. A single-entry visa for a one-month stay costs 40 JOD, payable in cash or usually by card at the entry counter. For tourism, the official Jordan Pass is the most popular and cost-effective route: purchased online before arrival (from 70 JOD), it bundles the visa fee waiver with free entry to Petra and over 40 attractions, provided you stay a minimum of three days (two nights) in the country. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry, and proof of onward travel may be requested. The eVisa, launched in 2023, processes in roughly 1-3 business days. Jordan is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
