🇨🇭Switzerland🇻🇳VietnamCH-VN Switzerland to Vietnam visa requirements
Visa-free 45 days for Swiss tourists since 15 Mar 2025 (extended through 2028). Swiss passport holders can enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days per stay for tourism, business, family visits, or transit. Switzerland was added to Vietnam's unilateral 45-day visa-free list on 15 March 2025 as part of an expanded scheme, which has been extended through 14 March 2028. Multiple entries are allowed, with a minimum 30-day gap between visa-free visits. Switzerland and Vietnam have strong historical ties — Switzerland was one of the first Western countries to establish relations with Vietnam in 1971. Most Swiss travellers connect from Zurich (ZRH) or Geneva (GVA) via Doha (Qatar Airways), Dubai (Emirates), Singapore (Singapore Airlines), or Bangkok (Thai Airways) to reach Hanoi (HAN) or Ho Chi Minh City (SGN). For longer stays apply for the Vietnam eVisa at evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn — USD 25 single-entry or USD 50 multi-entry for 90 days. Work, study, journalism, and stays over 45 days still require a regular Vietnamese visa from the Vietnamese embassy in Bern.
