Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit Türkiye?
Canadian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa or e-visa to visit Türkiye for tourism. You can enter visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. As of 30 May 2026, holders of an ordinary Canadian passport are visa-exempt for tourist and short business visits to Türkiye. They may stay up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period without any visa, e-visa, or visa-on-arrival. This is confirmed by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (which states ordinary passport holders are exempt up to 90 days in 180), the Government of Canada travel advisory, and the official Turkish e-Visa portal (where Canada is not listed because no e-visa is required). The only documents needed are a valid passport (valid at least 150 days from the date of entry) and proof of onward travel/funds if requested. To stay beyond 90 days, or for work/study/other purposes, a residence permit or appropriate visa from a Turkish mission must be obtained. Note: Canadian official/diplomatic passport holders DO require a visa, and dual Turkish-Canadian citizens must enter on a Turkish passport.
