Do Canada passport holders need a visa to visit FJ?
No visa required. Canadian ordinary passport holders are visa-exempt for Fiji and receive a free visitor permit of up to 4 months on arrival for tourism. Canada is on Fiji's official list of visa-exempted countries. A Canadian citizen traveling for tourism or a short visit does not need to apply for any visa, eVisa, or ETA in advance. On arrival, an immigration officer issues a free Visitor Permit valid for a stay of up to 4 months (the officer may grant a shorter period at their discretion). The permit is for tourism and short stays only; paid work, business activity, and volunteering for pay are not permitted. Entry requires a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry, a confirmed return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and proof of sufficient funds. If a longer stay is needed, the permit may be extended once for a maximum of two additional months by applying to the Department of Immigration before expiry (extension fee FJD 93.00). This verdict was confirmed against the Fiji Department of Immigration website and the Government of Canada travel advisory as of 2026-05-31.
