Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit YE?
A Brazilian ordinary passport holder needs a visa to enter Yemen for tourism. Brazil is not eligible for visa-on-arrival, and the only electronic option is restricted to organised tour groups (10+ people) booked through accredited Yemeni agencies. In practice, individual tourist visas are largely on hold due to the ongoing conflict, and most governments advise against all travel to Yemen. Brazil is not among the roughly 11 countries (mainly Gulf and a few Arab states) eligible for a visa on arrival in Yemen, nor does Yemen grant Brazilians visa-free access. A Yemeni entry visa must be obtained in advance from a Yemeni diplomatic mission, supported by an invitation/sponsor and a medical certificate confirming freedom from infectious diseases. Yemen launched an electronic visa system on 24 June 2025, but it is limited to approved tourist groups of at least 10 members travelling through accredited Yemeni travel agencies and approved by the General Authority for Tourism; even then an approved e-visa is collected as a sticker visa at an embassy/consulate. Independent tourist visas are effectively suspended, with entry visas issued mainly to people of Yemeni origin, NGO/international-organisation staff, journalists and diplomats. Yemen is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. Overlaying all of this, Yemen is under the highest "do not travel" advisories from major governments because of armed conflict, terrorism, kidnapping and landmines, and consular assistance is essentially unavailable. For a Brazilian tourist the realistic answer is: a visa is required, must be arranged in advance, and genuine tourism is presently impractical.
