Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit LT?
Brazilian ordinary passport holders can travel to Lithuania visa-free for tourism, staying up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. No visa or pre-travel authorization is required as of 2026-05-30. ETIAS is not yet in force (delayed to at least 2027). Lithuania is a member of the Schengen Area, and Brazil benefits from a visa-waiver agreement between Brazil and the European Union for short stays. A Brazilian citizen holding an ordinary (biometric) passport may enter Lithuania and the wider Schengen Area without a visa for tourism, business, family visits, or transit, for a maximum of 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. The passport must be biometric, issued within the previous 10 years, and valid for at least 90 days (three months) beyond the intended date of departure from the Schengen zone. At the border, travelers should be prepared to show proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, sufficient funds, and travel insurance, and to explain the purpose of their visit. The EU's ETIAS travel authorization (a future online pre-screening for visa-exempt nationals, around EUR 7, valid 3 years) was originally planned for late 2026 but, as confirmed by the European Commission on 26 February 2026, has been postponed to at least 2027 due to delays in the Entry/Exit System (EES). Therefore, as of 30 May 2026, no ETIAS is required and no action is needed before travel beyond holding a valid passport. The 90-day limit is cumulative across all Schengen countries, not per country, so days spent elsewhere in Schengen count toward the same allowance. Working in Lithuania, or stays longer than 90 days, require a national visa or residence permit.
