Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit Japan?

Visa-free up to 90 days under Sep 2023 agreement. Use Visit Japan Web for QR-code entry. Brazilian ordinary passport holders enter Japan visa-free for up to 90 days per entry under the visa exemption agreement that took effect on 30 September 2023 (replacing the prior visa requirement). The agreement covers tourism, business meetings, and family visits — work, study, and journalism still require a visa. Brazilians must hold a biometric (e-Passport) for visa-free entry; non-biometric passports require a regular tourist visa. Visit Japan Web is the recommended digital pre-registration for immigration and customs. Japan's planned JESTA electronic travel authorization is targeted for fiscal year 2028 and is not required in 2026.
