Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit Finland?

Brazilian ordinary passport holders can travel to Finland visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, because Finland is in the Schengen Area and the EU–Brazil visa-waiver agreement applies. Finland is a member of the Schengen Area, and Brazilian ordinary passport holders are visa-exempt for short stays. Under the EU–Brazil short-stay visa-waiver agreement (the amended version entered into force on 1 March 2026), Brazilians may enter Finland and the wider Schengen Area without a visa for tourism or business for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. No visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is needed for a short tourist visit. Travelers must still satisfy standard Schengen entry conditions at the border: a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned departure and issued within the last 10 years, proof of accommodation, a return/onward ticket, sufficient funds, and (if requested) travel medical insurance. Two upcoming EU systems affect future trips but are NOT yet mandatory as of 30 May 2026: the Entry/Exit System (EES), a biometric border-registration system rolling out ahead of ETIAS, and ETIAS, an online travel authorization (expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026, around EUR 7, valid 3 years, with a transition/grace period after launch). Until ETIAS is live and mandatory, Brazilians need no pre-travel authorization for Finland. Visa-free status covers tourism and business only; any paid work requires a separate national work visa/permit.
