Do Brazil passport holders need a visa to visit China?
Visa-free 30 days for Brazilian tourists since 1 Jun 2025. Extended through 31 May 2026. Brazilian passport holders can enter China visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism, business, family visits, or transit. China launched a trial unilateral visa-free policy for Brazil on 1 June 2025 alongside Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay - the first Latin American countries added to the visa-free framework. The initial one-year trial has been extended through 31 May 2026. This deepens China-Brazil BRICS+ cooperation and trade (Brazil is China's largest agricultural export partner in Latin America). LATAM, China Eastern, China Southern, Air China, and KLM operate one-stop or direct flights from São Paulo (Guarulhos), Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou — many via Madrid, Doha, or Dubai. Travel must be for short-term purposes — work, study, journalism, and stays over 30 days still require a regular visa from the Chinese embassy in Brasília or consulates in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, or Recife. For longer or other purposes, regular China visa fees are BRL 530 (single entry) or BRL 1,060 (multi-entry).
