Belgium to China visa requirements
Belgian ordinary passport holders can enter mainland China visa-free for eligible short visits of up to 30 days. The unilateral policy is valid through 31 Dec 2026. Belgian ordinary passport holders can enter mainland China visa-free for up to 30 days for business, tourism, visits to relatives or friends, exchange visits, or transit. The Chinese Embassy in Belgium notice published on 4 November 2025 extends the unilateral visa-free policy for Belgium and listed countries to 24:00 (UTC+08:00) on 31 December 2026, and the National Immigration Administration list published on 17 February 2026 includes Belgium. The 30-day stay is calculated from 00:00 on the day after entry. The policy applies through sea, road and air ports open to foreign nationals, except where laws, regulations or bilateral arrangements say otherwise. Work, study, news coverage, and other purposes outside the visa-free scope still require the appropriate visa, and travelers planning to stay over 30 days should apply for a visa in advance; if they need to stay longer for proper reasons after entering visa-free, they must apply to the public security exit-entry administration for a stay permit. For the visa-free route, the passport must be an ordinary passport valid for the intended stay; temporary, emergency, or other non-ordinary travel documents do not qualify. For regular visas submitted in Belgium, the Embassy requires a passport with over 6 months' validity and blank visa pages; its 2026 fee notice lists the Schengen-country visa fee as EUR 45, excluding expedited and visa-center service fees.
