United Arab Emirates to Yemen visa requirements

Do not travel. UAE MoFA's current Yemen page says UAE nationals are prohibited from travelling to Yemen. On visa taxonomy, the same MoFA page lists normal UAE passports as Visa Free for Yemen, so the prior visa-on-arrival guidance was incorrect; any travel would still be blocked by the current UAE travel prohibition and extreme security risk. The correct visa classification for UAE ordinary passports is visa-free, not visa on arrival: the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yemen travel-requirements page, last modified on 03 June 2026, lists diplomatic, special, official, and normal UAE passports as Visa Free. However, the same page also carries the overriding alert that UAE nationals are prohibited from travelling to the Republic of Yemen. This means the practical user-facing answer must lead with the travel ban and safety warning rather than presenting an ordinary tourist route. Yemen remains under active conflict, with divided immigration control, intermittent flights, terrorism, kidnapping, landmine, health, and infrastructure risks; the US Department of State also maintains a Level 4 Do Not Travel advisory dated 19 December 2025 and says do not travel to Yemen for any reason. Yemen's eVisa portal exists and lists several visa types, including business, diplomatic, exit, multi-entry, special, tourist, and transit visas, but it should not be described as only for groups/business/transit, and it does not replace the UAE MoFA travel prohibition for UAE nationals. If the prohibition is lifted in the future, travelers should still confirm the exact entry point, airline acceptance, passport validity, health documentation, and whether the Yemeni authority controlling the port recognizes the visa-free status.
