Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit ML?
UAE ordinary passport holders can enter Mali visa-free for up to 90 days under a reciprocal bilateral visa-waiver agreement. No visa or eVisa is needed for a short tourist visit, but a yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory. Mali grants visa-free entry to holders of ordinary United Arab Emirates passports for stays of up to 90 days, under a reciprocal visa-waiver arrangement (Malian citizens likewise enjoy 90 days visa-free in the UAE). UAE is one of a short list of non-ECOWAS countries on Mali's visa-exemption list, alongside states such as Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Tunisia and Chad. No advance visa, eVisa or visa-on-arrival fee applies for a short tourist stay. Travelers must still meet standard entry conditions: a passport valid for at least six months with blank pages, proof of onward/return travel, and critically a valid International Certificate of Vaccination against yellow fever, which is required for all arrivals. Separately, travelers should be aware that Mali's overall security situation is volatile and many governments issue strong travel advisories; visa-free status does not equal a safe-travel recommendation. Note also that as of 1 January 2026 Mali suspended visa issuance to and entry by U.S. citizens, but this does not affect UAE nationals. Always confirm immediately before departure, as the regional situation (including Mali's withdrawal from ECOWAS effective January 2025) continues to evolve.
