Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit GH?
UAE ordinary passport holders need a Ghana e-Visa before travel. Apply online at the official portal (evisa.immigration.gov.gh), pay the fee, and receive an electronic visa by email. The free ETA introduced on 25 May 2026 applies only to African passport holders, so Emirati travelers pay the standard non-African e-Visa fee. As of 25 May 2026 Ghana operates a fully online e-Visa system run by the Ghana Immigration Service, which replaced the previous visa-on-arrival arrangement. The new platform grants a free electronic travel authorization (ETA) to holders of African passports traveling for tourism or business, but the United Arab Emirates is not an African country, so a UAE ordinary passport holder must apply for and pay for a standard e-Visa. The single-entry tourist e-Visa costs USD 260 under normal processing (3-5 business days), with paid priority (48 hours, USD 338) and express (5 hours, USD 442) tiers; multiple-entry e-Visas cost USD 468/608/796. A single-entry visa is generally valid for up to 3 months from issue with a stay of up to 30 days. A passport valid for at least 6 months, proof of onward travel, and a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate are required for entry. Travelers should apply only through the official portal and avoid third-party agents that add markups.
