Do UAE passport holders need a visa to visit AO?
UAE ordinary passport holders can visit Angola visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days per entry (90 days total per calendar year). No visa or eVisa is needed for a short tourist visit. As of 31 May 2026, holders of an ordinary United Arab Emirates passport do NOT need a visa to enter Angola for tourism. Angola added the UAE to its tourist visa-exemption list under the visa-policy expansion that took effect in late 2023, which exempts nationals of roughly 98 countries from the tourist visa. Under this regime a UAE citizen may enter Angola for tourism for up to 30 days per entry, with a maximum of 90 days within a calendar year. The exemption is granted strictly for tourism (leisure, sport, culture, family visit). For any non-tourism purpose - business beyond short visits, work, study, residence, medical stays or stays longer than the permitted period - the traveler must obtain the appropriate visa in advance, typically the online tourist/ordinary eVisa via the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) portal, which costs around USD 120 and is valid 120 days for 30-day entries. Even though no visa is required, travelers must still satisfy general entry conditions: a passport valid at least 6 months with two blank pages, a confirmed return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation and sufficient funds, and a valid yellow-fever vaccination certificate (Angola is a yellow-fever country and the certificate is mandatory). Note: some Angola consulate pages still describe a paid tourist-visa procedure - this generally applies to non-tourism purposes or to third-country nationals resident in the UAE, not to UAE nationals traveling as tourists. Border officials retain final discretion over admission. Angola is not in the Schengen area, so no Schengen 90/180 rule or ETIAS applies.
