🇿🇦南非(South Africa)🇱🇸莱索托(Lesotho)ZA-LS 南非(South Africa) 前往 莱索托(Lesotho) 签证要求
South African ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Lesotho for tourism. As a fellow SADC member, South Africa is visa-exempt; travelers are admitted at the border with a valid passport and granted a short stay (commonly 30 days, extendable up to 180 days). A valid passport is still required to cross the border as of 2026 - the proposed ID-only travel model is not yet in force. South Africa and Lesotho are both members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), and Lesotho admits South African ordinary passport holders without a visa for short tourist visits. Travelers are cleared at the port of entry (most commonly Maseru Bridge or other land borders) on production of a valid passport and are typically given an initial stay of 30 days, which can be extended at the Office of Immigration (Ministry of Home Affairs) up to a maximum of 180 days. No advance application, eVisa, or fee is required for visa-exempt nationals. Note that despite ongoing 2026 discussions between the two governments about an ID-only border crossing model, no agreement has been reached and the South African Department of Home Affairs confirms a valid passport remains mandatory for all border crossings. Lesotho is in Southern Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules are irrelevant here. Travelers should carry proof of accommodation/onward plans and may be asked for a yellow fever certificate only if arriving from or transiting a yellow-fever risk country.
