🇿🇦南非(South Africa)🇭🇺匈牙利(Hungary)ZA-HU 南非(South Africa) 前往 匈牙利(Hungary) 签证要求
South African ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Hungary for tourism. There is no visa-free, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival option, and ETIAS does not apply to South Africans because South Africa is not on the EU visa-exempt list. Hungary is a member of the Schengen Area, and South Africa is an EU Annex I (visa-required) nationality. Accordingly, a South African ordinary passport holder must obtain a Schengen Type C short-stay visa before travelling for tourism. The visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area (29 countries), not just Hungary. Applications are lodged through the Embassy of Hungary in Pretoria or its authorised visa application centre (VFS Global), and Hungary must be the main destination (or first point of entry) for the trip. The standard adult visa fee is EUR 90, payable in ZAR, plus a non-refundable VFS service charge. Travel medical insurance with minimum EUR 30,000 coverage, proof of accommodation, return flights, and sufficient funds (about EUR 40/day) are mandatory. ETIAS, the EU's upcoming travel authorisation expected to launch in late 2026, applies only to visa-exempt nationalities; South Africans remain on the full-visa track and are unaffected by it. Travellers should apply well in advance, as the standard processing time is 15 calendar days but can extend to 30-45 days in peak periods. Applications may be submitted up to 6 months before travel (9 months for seafarers).
