Yes, a visa is required. Vietnam ordinary passport holders are NOT on Jamaica's visa-exempt, visa-on-arrival, or eVisa lists, so they must obtain a visitor visa in advance from a Jamaican diplomatic mission (or, in some regions, a designated UK mission) before travel. Jamaica grants visa-free entry only to a fixed set of nationalities (Commonwealth members, the USA, Canada, EU/EEA states, and selected others for 30, 90, or 180 days). Vietnam is not on any of these lists, nor does Jamaica offer visa-on-arrival or an electronic visa (eVisa) to Vietnamese nationals as of mid-2026. Therefore a Vietnamese ordinary passport holder traveling to Jamaica for tourism must apply for a Jamaican visitor (tourist) visa at a Jamaican High Commission, Embassy, or Consulate before departure. Because Jamaican missions are limited and many applications are referred to PICA in Kingston for approval, applicants should allow several weeks. Note that separate from the visa, ALL air and cruise arrivals must also complete the online C5 Immigration/Customs (Enter Jamaica) declaration form before arrival.
