🇻🇳越南(Vietnam)🏳格陵兰(Greenland)VN-GL 越南(Vietnam) 前往 格陵兰(Greenland) 签证要求
Yes, a Vietnamese ordinary passport holder needs a visa to visit Greenland. Greenland is a Danish territory but is NOT part of the Schengen Area, and a regular Schengen visa does not cover it. Vietnam is a visa-required nationality, so you must obtain a Danish short-stay (Schengen-type) visa that is specifically endorsed as valid for Greenland. Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, but it lies outside both the European Union and the Schengen Area, and it has its own visa regime. Citizens who are visa-exempt for Schengen short stays may also enter Greenland visa-free for up to 90 days, but Vietnamese ordinary passport holders are NOT among the Schengen visa-exempt nationalities. Therefore a Vietnamese traveler requires a visa. Crucially, a standard Danish or Schengen visa does NOT permit entry to Greenland: the visa sticker must explicitly state it is valid for the Faroe Islands and/or Greenland. The application is filed through a Danish diplomatic mission as a Schengen-type short-stay (Type C) visa, declaring Greenland as the destination, with supporting documentation of the Greenland itinerary. Note that the Royal Danish Embassy in Hanoi no longer decides these applications; documents are submitted at VFS Global in Vietnam and the case is decided by the Embassy of Denmark in Bangkok. The standard adult fee is EUR 90 (plus a VFS service charge). Because Greenland is outside Schengen, the EU ETIAS travel authorization (launching 2026) does NOT apply to Vietnamese nationals here, since ETIAS only covers visa-exempt nationals and Vietnam is visa-required. Travelers nearly always transit through Denmark (Copenhagen) or Iceland to reach Greenland, so a flight routed through a Schengen state will also require that the visa be valid for Schengen transit.
