If staying in private accommodation (with friends or in a rental), the host should notify the migration authorities. Travelers staying longer than 30 days, or who exceed the 90/180 cumulative cap, must obtain a Kazakh visa (a 10-year multiple-entry tourist/business visa is available, capping individual stays at 30 or 60 days). Overstaying can result in fines, detention, or exit delays, so travelers should monitor their permitted days carefully.
