🇺🇸美国(United States)🇭🇺匈牙利(Hungary)US-HU 美国(United States) 前往 匈牙利(Hungary) 签证要求
US ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist or business trips to Hungary of up to 90 days in any 180-day Schengen period. ETIAS is not yet required (scheduled for late 2026). Hungary also recognizes a narrow bilateral extra 90-day stay for eligible US citizens, but that extra time is Hungary-only and you must leave Schengen directly from Hungary. Hungary is a member of the Schengen Area, and United States citizens holding ordinary passports enjoy visa-free entry for short tourist or business visits. You may stay up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen zone (not just Hungary). No visa, embassy appointment, or pre-approval is currently required: you present a valid passport at the border and are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), which became fully operational on 10 April 2026. The U.S. State Department also says U.S. citizens can stay an extra 90 days in Hungary under a bilateral agreement, but only if they have not used their full Schengen visa-free allowance in the prior six months; the extra time is valid only in Hungary, does not permit travel to other Schengen countries, and requires leaving the Schengen Area directly from Hungary. As of 2026-06-21, the EU's ETIAS travel authorization is not yet operational; the official EU site schedules launch for late 2026, after which Americans will need an online ETIAS approval (EUR 20, valid up to 3 years or until the passport expires) before travel, subject to transitional rules. Until ETIAS goes live, a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended departure from the Schengen Area is the key entry document. Border officers may still ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds.
