🇺🇸美国(United States)🏳格陵兰(Greenland)US-GL 美国(United States) 前往 格陵兰(Greenland) 签证要求
US passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Greenland and may stay up to 90 days. Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark but is NOT in the Schengen Area or the EU, so ETIAS does not apply and Greenland days do not count against the Schengen 90/180 limit. A United States ordinary passport holder can travel to Greenland visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days. Greenland is a self-governing territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, but it is outside the European Union and outside the Schengen Area, so no Schengen visa, ETIAS authorization, or eVisa is required for entry. The passport must be valid for at least 90 days beyond the intended departure date from Greenland. Travelers should carry proof of onward/return travel and evidence of sufficient funds. Important nuance: a Schengen or Danish visa or residence permit is NOT valid for entering Greenland, and conversely Greenland permits are not valid for Schengen. Because there are limited direct flights, many travelers transit through Copenhagen (Denmark) or Reykjavik/Keflavik (Iceland) — both Schengen entry points — where standard Schengen short-stay transit rules and (from its eventual launch) ETIAS may apply for the transit portion, even though Greenland itself does not require ETIAS. Time spent in Greenland is counted separately from the Schengen 90/180-day allowance. As of mid-2026 ETIAS has not yet entered mandatory operation, so US visitors transiting Schengen currently do not need it, but it is expected to become required during a phased rollout. No visa fee applies for the Greenland visit itself.
