United States citizens holding an ordinary passport do not need a visa to enter Brunei Darussalam for tourism or business and may stay for up to 90 days. The U.S. is on Brunei's visa-exemption list for short visits. There is no visa fee and no visa application; the only mandatory pre-arrival formality is the E-Arrival Card, a free online registration that all foreign travelers must obtain before entering Brunei by air, land, or sea (transit passengers who do not clear immigration are exempt). Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date and have at least one blank page per entry stamp. Stays beyond 90 days, or travel for work, study, or other non-tourist purposes, require a visa from a Bruneian diplomatic mission. Diplomatic and official U.S. passport holders are not covered by this waiver and need a visa.
