🇺🇸美国(United States)🇦🇫阿富汗(Afghanistan)US-AF 美国(United States) 前往 阿富汗(Afghanistan) 签证要求
US passport holders need a visa for Afghanistan. As of 2026, the most practical option is the official Afghanistan e-Visa, applied for online via the E-Afghans portal before travel. A US State Department Level 4 'Do Not Travel' advisory remains in effect. A United States ordinary passport holder cannot enter Afghanistan visa-free and there is no visa on arrival at Afghan airports or land borders. In early 2026, Afghanistan's Taliban-led authorities launched an online e-Visa system through the official E-Afghans portal (eafghans.com), which is now the standard route for American tourists. Applicants register online, complete a form, upload a passport bio-data scan and a passport-style photo, pay an application service fee (about USD 8) and, upon approval, a visa fee (about USD 120) plus a card processing surcharge. The tourist e-Visa is typically single-entry, allows a stay of up to 30 days, and must be used within roughly 90 days of issue. At present the e-Visa is reliably accepted only at Kabul (Hamid Karzai) International Airport, not at land borders. Processing generally takes about 1-3 weeks, with faster express options reported. Because the United States closed Afghan diplomatic missions on US soil in 2022, the embassy route is not available domestically, making the e-Visa the principal channel. Critically, the U.S. Department of State maintains a Level 4 'Do Not Travel' advisory for Afghanistan due to terrorism, civil unrest, crime, kidnapping, and the high risk of wrongful detention. The US government has no embassy presence in Afghanistan and cannot provide emergency consular services. Travelers should also register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after arrival. This route is documented for reference only; travel is strongly discouraged.
