Taiwan (ROC) ordinary passport holders need an eVisa to visit Tajikistan. However, Tajikistan operates a straightforward electronic visa (eVisa) system, and Taiwan (listed as "Taiwan, Republic of China") is among the roughly 120 nationalities eligible to apply. The eVisa is obtained entirely online before travel through the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal (evisa.tj), with no embassy visit required. A single-entry tourist eVisa costs US$30 (US$50 for multiple entry) and is typically issued within 3-5 business days. The visa is valid for 90 days from issue and permits a maximum stay of up to 60 days. Travelers planning to visit the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) and the Pamir Highway must add a separate GBAO permit for an extra US$20 during the same application. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Applicants should use only the official evisa.tj site, as numerous look-alike commercial sites charge inflated service fees.
