Taiwan ordinary passport holders need a Suriname e-Tourist Card, obtained online before travel. There is no visa-free entry and no visa-on-arrival; the authorization must be approved in advance. Taiwan (TW) is not on Suriname's 21-country visa-required list, so ordinary passport holders qualify for the streamlined e-Tourist Card rather than a full embassy visa. Since May 2023, Suriname requires an advance, paid online travel authorization for almost all nationalities. For tourism and short family visits, Taiwanese travelers apply online through the official VFS Global Suriname e-visa portal for an e-Tourist Card, which is the simplest channel. It is a single-entry authorization permitting a stay of up to 90 days, and must be obtained before boarding (recommended at least 72 hours ahead). The card itself carries a government entry fee of USD 50 (or EUR 50) plus a small VFS service fee of about USD 8. Travelers needing to work, study, do business, or stay long-term cannot use the e-Tourist Card and must apply for a regular e-Visa or consular visa instead. A passport valid for at least 6 months and a return/onward ticket are required. Suriname is in South America and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
