Taiwan ordinary passport holders can travel to North Macedonia visa-free for tourism, staying up to 90 days within any 180-day period under a mutual visa-waiver agreement that runs through March 31, 2030. North Macedonia and Taiwan maintain a reciprocal visa-free agreement. Holders of an ordinary Taiwan (Republic of China) passport may enter North Macedonia without a visa for tourism, business, or short visits and stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. The agreement was renewed by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs effective April 1, 2025 and runs until March 31, 2030. North Macedonia is an EU candidate country but is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do NOT apply to entry into North Macedonia; its 90/180 allowance is counted separately. At the border, travelers should carry a passport valid for the duration of stay (officials commonly expect validity beyond the trip), proof of onward/return travel, confirmed accommodation, and evidence of sufficient funds; travel medical insurance covering the stay is strongly recommended. No application or fee is required to enter visa-free.
