Taiwan ordinary passport holders need a visa for Liberia, obtained through Liberia's electronic Visa on Arrival system. Apply online in advance via the official Liberia Immigration Service portal, get an approval/QR confirmation by email, then collect the visa sticker at Roberts International Airport on arrival. Liberia is not visa-free for Taiwan (ROC) ordinary passport holders. Since Liberia launched its electronic Visa on Arrival service on March 11, 2025, travelers from countries without a Liberian embassy - which includes Taiwan - must apply online through the official Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) portal before flying. You create an account, submit the application with a passport (valid at least 6 months) and a passport photo, and pay a non-refundable USD 102.50 fee by Visa or Mastercard. After approval (apply at least 7 days ahead; up to 3 months in advance), you receive a confirmation email with a QR code. The approval is valid for 3 months from issue to enter; on arrival at Roberts International Airport an immigration officer issues the visa sticker and sets the actual permitted stay at 30 or 90 days. The visa is single entry; frequent visitors need a Re-entry Permit Card. Note: nationals of the roughly 23 countries that host a Liberian embassy must instead apply at that embassy and cannot use the online portal - this does not apply to Taiwan, which has no Liberian diplomatic mission. Because no confirmed visa-free or pure on-arrival channel exists, advance online application is mandatory and recommended well before travel.
