The General Commissariat of Migration (CGM) operates an official online eVisa portal (migration.gov.bi). The standard tourist product is a one-month, multiple-entry visa costing USD 90, with online processing typically around 3 working days. Burundi also permits a visa on arrival at Bujumbura International Airport and at land borders for a maximum stay of one month for many nationalities, but availability is nationality-dependent and not guaranteed in practice, so travelers are strongly advised to secure an eVisa in advance rather than relying on VOA. A valid international yellow fever vaccination certificate is compulsory for all travelers. Taiwan appears in the CGM portal nationality list under "China, Republic of" and receives standard (non-exempt) treatment; the visa-exempt list covers only East African Community / neighbouring states (DR Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda). Fees are payable in USD or EUR by card. Passport should be valid at least six months with blank pages. As of 2026-05-30 no unilateral visa-free, ETA, or mutual waiver applies to Taiwan for Burundi.
