Yes, a Turkey (TR) ordinary passport holder needs a visa for Chad. Since 11 December 2024 Turkish citizens can apply online for a Chad eVisa for tourism instead of visiting an embassy. Only Turkish DIPLOMATIC passport holders are visa-exempt (90 days); ordinary passport holders are not. Chad is not in the Schengen area and has no visa-waiver agreement with Turkey for ordinary passports. Turkish nationals therefore require a visa to enter Chad. On 11 December 2024 the Republic of Chad launched a national electronic visa (eVisa) system via its official portal (evisa.td), allowing eligible foreign nationals — including Turkish ordinary passport holders — to apply, pay and receive a visa online for tourism, business, family visit, transit and similar short stays. The eVisa is typically valid up to 90 days with a government fee around EUR 100 (roughly USD 107). Note: Chad's only visa-free arrangement with Turkey covers DIPLOMATIC passports (up to 90 days) — ordinary passport holders are excluded and must obtain a visa. Travelers should also be aware that since launch the eVisa payment gateway and portal have experienced intermittent technical problems, so the traditional Chad embassy/consulate visa remains a reliable fallback.
