Airlines now check for an approved ETA before boarding, so travelers should obtain it before departure (at least 48 hours ahead). A visa on arrival (around 50 USD) remains available at major airports (Maputo, Vilanculos, Pemba, Beira) and key land borders as a fallback, requiring a passport, return ticket, accommodation proof and funds. Note: some 2026 country lists of the 29 visa-exempt nations do not explicitly name Turkey, so requirements can shift; travelers should confirm their exact category on evisa.gov.mz before booking. Mozambique is in southern Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. Passport must be valid 6+ months with blank pages.
