There is no government fee for the visa-free entry, and Iranian authorities typically do not stamp the passport on entry or exit. The passport should generally be valid for at least 6 months beyond the planned stay. Travelers who wish to remain longer than 90 days can apply for an extension inside Iran, obtain a visa on arrival (air entry only, with a grant notice), or apply for a consular/eVisa before travel. Because of US/EU sanctions linkage and political sensitivities, travelers should monitor their own government's advisories and avoid restricted areas; Iran's visa-free status for Turkey itself, however, has been stable and remains in force as of mid-2026.
